Spain confirmed on Sunday that Eric Garcia has left the camp due to the left knee problem that sidelined him against England, with Robin Le Normand drafted in to replace him.
The Blaugrana defender underwent medical tests on Sunday morning, after which head coach Luis de la Fuente decided against taking any unnecessary risks ahead of the team’s upcoming international commitments.
Robin Le Normand has been called up in his place as Spain turn their attention to the three fixtures remaining in this window, starting on Tuesday against Croatia at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.
Meanwhile, Eric Garcia will return to the Catalan capital to oversee his recovery alongside FC Barcelona’s medical staff, hoping the discomfort in his left knee does not worsen in the coming weeks.
