Manchester City have bolstered their attack with the signing of Iliman Ndiaye from Everton for £65 million.
Just as Iliman Ndiaye (26) appeared poised to finalise terms with Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester City swooped in at the eleventh hour to secure the services of one of the Premier League’s most electric wingers, drafted in to offset the absences of Omar Marmoush, Sávio, and Jack Grealish.
The ‘Sky Blues’ originally targeted Cody Gakpo, but Liverpool knocked back a €93 million bid for the Dutch forward, forcing the Manchester hierarchy to turn their attention to the Everton dynamo.
During his stint with Everton, Ndiaye repeatedly caught the eye, making 77 appearances, scoring 17 goals, and providing four assists.
At 26 years of age, the Senegal international had made a summer switch his priority, having already rebuffed interest from Saudi Arabia as well as a contract extension from the ‘Toffees’, where his deal was due to run until 2029.
Across this summer window, Manchester City spent €380 million on new recruits, whilst generating €340 million in revenue through player sales.
