According to Spanish outlet Sport, Barcelona have reignited their interest in Bournemouth striker Eli Junior Kroupi as they step up plans to strengthen their attack ahead of the new season.
The Catalan giants are expected to push hard for the 20-year-old French forward, who has emerged as the club’s leading alternative should a move for Atletico Madrid star Julian Alvarez prove unattainable.
With Barcelona unwilling to exceed their valuation for Alvarez, attention has turned once again to one of the Premier League’s brightest young talents.
Kroupi joined Bournemouth from Lorient in early 2025 and has quickly established himself as one of the division’s most promising attackers. Despite limited opportunities, the France Under-21 international has reached double figures for goals and attracted the attention of several of Europe’s leading clubs.
Any deal, however, is unlikely to come cheaply. Bournemouth are understood to value Kroupi at more than €100 million, despite his market value being considerably lower, leaving Barcelona with another complex negotiation if they decide to formalise their interest.
While Julian Alvarez remains the dream signing, Barcelona are now actively exploring alternative options, with Kroupi firmly at the top of their shortlist as they look to add a long-term focal point to Hansi Flick’s attack.
