Vincent Kompany was rushed to hospital after collapsing during a Bayern reserve-team session, but the manager is now in a stable condition.

A major scare unfolded at Bayern Munchen on Friday morning following a medical emergency at their training base. First-team manager Vincent Kompany had to be rushed to hospital after collapsing during a reserve-team training session.

According to reports from both ‘Bild’ and ‘Sky’, the sudden collapse was triggered by a virus that the head coach has been battling over the past week. The illness had already taken a visible toll, preventing him from standing for extended periods during recent matches and first-team sessions.

The reports revealed that an air ambulance touched down directly at the training ground to provide immediate emergency care. The Belgian tactician is currently in a stable condition.

Bayern Munchen statement:
“Vincent Kompany had to receive medical assistance on Friday after collapsing during a training session of FC Bayern’s second team. The first-team coach was watching the second team’s training session. Kompany is undergoing comprehensive examinations in hospital and will remain under medical supervision. Until further notice, his coaching staff will take charge of training and match management.”
