According to ‘A Bola’, the FPF have confirmed the sanction handed to Cristiano Ronaldo for walking out of the Portugal camp, with the lenient ban allowing him to return for the next international break.

Specifically, the Portugal captain has been handed a 30-day suspension from national team duty, alongside a €255 fine.

Crucially, the ban is backdated to 30 September, the day the incident took place. As a result, Cristiano Ronaldo will complete his punishment by the end of October, clearing him to feature in the matches against Denmark on 14 November and Wales on 17 November.

On that day, the forward walked out of the international camp following a fierce bust-up with manager Jorge Jesus. As Ronaldo later revealed, his fury stemmed not merely from being left on the bench after warming up against Norway, but from the manager breaking his word after agreeing to explain the situation to the press.

The ‘7’ also insisted that he was ready to return as soon as he served his sanction. Ultimately, he has had to do very little to overcome it, merely waiting for Jorge Jesus to announce his squad at the beginning of November. Meanwhile, the €255 penalty remains a purely symbolic fee for the best-paid athlete on the planet.
