Elche boss Martin Anselmi insists LaLiga should set an example if incidents at Vallecas force another match suspension this Saturday.
The Elche boss insisted he has not spent “a single minute” this week dwelling on potential off-pitch issues, keeping his focus firmly trained on playing the fixture.
“We are preparing to take the pitch and compete. Everything else is outside our remit and beyond our control,” the manager affirmed, adding that as head coach of Elche, “I cannot put myself in anyone else’s shoes.”
Quizzed on what disciplinary measures LaLiga should enforce, Anselmi admitted he was unfamiliar with “the fine print applied in each case”.
“It would be reckless of me to offer an opinion because I am not well-versed in the dispute between Rayo supporters and their board. However, I understand that this match affects more than just Rayo fans; our travelling supporters and our team have spent an entire week preparing for this fixture,” he pointed out.
“Rescheduling the match for a later date could easily work against us,” he warned.
“The league we compete in must take exemplary action. Since we do not decide these sanctions, I put 100% of my trust in LaLiga,” he concluded.
