Luis de la Fuente’s side completed their final session in Chattanooga on Tuesday, with the winger making his full return to training.
Forward Victor Munoz rejoined the full Spain group on Tuesday, marking his first complete session since being sidelined by injury. The winger is ramping up his fitness ahead of the 2026 World Cup Round of 32 showdown with Austria—a fixture Nico Williams and Yeremy Pino are expected to miss.
The Osasuna man, who is set to join Liverpool this summer, has been plagued by a muscle injury that first flared up during the closing stages of the domestic season. After a recurrence during the penultimate LaLiga EA Sports matchday, the issue hampered him again shortly after joining the national team at their Chattanooga base.
With just two days until the knockout tie, Munoz’s participation in the entire session provided a timely boost for the squad. In contrast, Nico Williams remains in recovery from a muscle strain picked up against Uruguay, while Yeremy Pino continues to struggle with the acromioclavicular sprain sustained in the same match.
Both players are all but ruled out of Thursday’s encounter in Los Angeles. The squad is scheduled to fly to the city on Tuesday to put the finishing touches on their matchday preparations.
Aside from those absences, Luis de la Fuente has a full complement of players at his disposal, though he faces a selection headache at right-back, where Marcos Llorente and Pedro Porro are vying for a starting berth.
The projected starting XI features Unai Simon in goal, with Pau Cubarsi and Laporte in central defence, flanked by Cucurella. Pedri, Rodri, and Dani Olmo are expected to anchor the midfield, while Lamine Yamal, Oyarzabal, and Alex Baena are tipped to lead the attack.
