Andre Cury, representative for the Brazilian centre-back Natan, has told ‘Eram News’ that FC Barcelona are keeping close tabs on the Real Betis star, though formal negotiations are yet to begin.

FC Barcelona remain active in the transfer market as they search for defensive reinforcements, with Natan Souza emerging as a primary target on the Catalan giants’ shortlist. On Tuesday, his agent, Andre Cury, went public regarding the ‘Blaugrana’ interest in the defender.

“It is true that Barcelona are interested in signing Natan, but we have not yet received any official offer,” confirmed the agent. Cury is a familiar face in the Catalan capital, having played a pivotal role in the landmark deal for Neymar, as well as the transfers of Keirrison and Vitor Roque.

Despite the interest, there is still significant ground to cover before a formal approach materialises. “Barcelona have not spoken to me directly, but they contacted the Real Betis board to express their interest in signing Natan this summer. If Betis receive an advantageous offer, I believe the transfer could go ahead,” Cury added.

Natan, 25, arrived at Betis in 2024 for nine million euros following a stint at Napoli and has since flourished into one of the LaLiga’s most dominant centre-halves. During his time with the ‘Verdiblancos’, he has racked up 97 matches over two seasons and remains under contract until 2030.
