The Cameroonian striker turned down a multi-million-pound offer from CSKA Moscow to continue waiting for a possible move to Barcelona.
The dream of playing for Barcelona remains the driving force for Cameroonian striker Karl Etta Eyong. According to ‘Mundo Deportivo’, the player has decided to turn down a lucrative offer from CSKA Moscow in order to continue waiting for an opportunity at the Spanish club.
Currently at Levante, the 22-year-old centre-forward caught the eye at the start of the season with a strong run of form in attack, but has since lost his place and seen his form dip over the last few months.
Even in a dip in form, Eyong chose to turn down a multi-million-euro contract from Russia, believing he can still achieve his goal of playing for Barça, especially following Robert Lewandowski’s departure.
A self-confessed fan of Samuel Eto’o, the young striker views a potential move to the Catalan club as his top priority and is even willing to start out as a substitute under manager Hansi Flick.
