According to German outlet BILD, Liverpool are intensifying their interest in Assan Ouedraogo, with the Premier League side prepared to test RB Leipzig’s resolve ahead of the summer window.

The highly rated midfielder has emerged as one of Liverpool’s key long-term targets as they continue planning for the future of their midfield.

Reports from BILD suggest Liverpool are willing to offer around €40 million for the 20-year-old, although Leipzig have no intention of accepting such a figure.

The Bundesliga club view Ouedraogo as one of the brightest young talents in German football and are determined to keep hold of him for the foreseeable future. Having arrived from Schalke 04 in 2024, the midfielder has quickly built a reputation for combining physical presence with technical quality.

Standing out for his composure on the ball and athletic profile, he is regarded internally as a player capable of developing into a cornerstone of Leipzig’s project, despite previous injury setbacks.

Leipzig’s stance is strengthened by the fact that Ouedraogo remains under contract until 2029 and does not possess a release clause.

Any deal would therefore require a considerably larger offer, with the German side believed to value him far above Liverpool’s current proposal as interest from across Europe continues to grow.
