Spurs have named the players travelling to Australia for meetings with Sydney FC and Chelsea, while several squad members will remain in the UK.
Tottenham are heading to Sydney for two friendlies against A-League superpower Sydney FC and fellow English Premier League club Chelsea at Allianz Stadium and Accor Stadium respectively.
Understandably, several of their big-name players will not be making the trip halfway around the world so soon after the end of the FIFA World Cup, with the likes of Cristian Romero and Pedro Porro on post-World Cup leave.
That’s in addition to a whole host of long-term injuries and rehabilitations such as Xavi Simons (out until 2027), Wilson Odobert (out until November) and Dejan Kulusevski, who is going through a slow and cautious recovery back home in England having been off the pitch since last year with a severe knee injury.
20-year-old Archie Gray is captaining an inexperienced side full of fringe and academy players against Auckland FC on Sunday afternoon.
That said, plenty of household names are expected to take to the pitch for at least 30 minutes each against Sydney and Chelsea, with Richarlison and Dominic Solanke some of the most famous Spurs players making the trip down under.

The Sydney Super also sees Chelsea play Western Sydney Wanderers at Accor Stadium on Tuesday, whilst later in August Chelsea’s women’s team – now minus Sam Kerr – will play an A-League Women All-Stars side.
