Real Madrid player Luka Modric spoke in the mixed zone after Real Madrid’s defeat in the final of the Spanish Super Cup against Barcelona (2-5). The Croatian player was sad after losing, but admitted that \u201cif you have to lose a final, it had better be this one\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real Madrid’s Croatian midfielder Luka Modric commented that the 2-5 defeat against FC Barcelona in the final of the Spanish Super Cup was a \u201ccomplicated defeat\u201d and said that, \u201cif there is any final you have to lose in the season\u201d, they prefer it to be this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAmong ourselves we are going to analyse to see what we can improve. We are in the fight for everything. If there is any final you have to lose, we prefer to choose this one,\u201d Modric said in the mixed zone after the defeat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt’s a complicated defeat. Barcelona were better and we have to congratulate them. For us it’s good that there’s another game coming up very soon in the Copa del Rey and we don’t have much time to regret it. We have to correct what we have done wrong, forget about it and continue because there is still a long season ahead,\u201d he commented. \u201cIt’s not nice when your biggest rival scores nine goals in two games,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Modric did not want to say anything about Ancelotti’s approach: \u201cWe have to work now and correct our mistakes. We didn’t play a good game, Barca were better and that’s it\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
