Boca Juniors claim victory in the ‘Superclasico’, and Ander Herrera played his part. The Spaniard was blown away by the atmosphere at La Bombonera and publicly acknowledged it afterwards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ander Herrera has played for several of Europe’s giants<\/strong>, but he decided to experience something different at Boca Juniors<\/a><\/strong>: an American powerhouse where every match is lived as if it were the last. And even more so in a ‘Superclasico’ against River Plate. This Sunday, the two Argentinian giants faced off in a clash that the ‘Xeneizes’ won, much to the delight of their fans. Ander Herrera<\/a> enjoyed it to the fullest<\/strong>, as he made clear in his words to ‘ESPN’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I came here mainly for this<\/strong>. I watched it many times from Spain, I imagined it. Enjoying it as a player was something unique. I’m a team player, I have been my whole career, and that’s why I’ve done well. When I got the chance to start, I tried to keep my place. When not, you have to contribute. Great teams are formed with 20-25 players, it’s not possible to do it with 13-14. Putting on this shirt every day is a gift,” he acknowledged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He then compared the ‘Superclasico’ to other major matches he has experienced throughout his footballing career: “It’s something unique<\/strong>. I’ve experienced the Manchester derby, PSG-Marseille, the Basque derby in Spain, United-Liverpool… but nothing compares to this<\/strong>.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“And I’ve enjoyed them a lot, mind you. I have a very strong connection with the teams, also with Zaragoza, where I’m a fan, but experiencing this is something that very few of us have the opportunity to do, and I feel incredibly fortunate,” he emphasised.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
