The 27-year-old Argentina centre-back joined Spurs from Atalanta in 2021 and has since made 126 appearances, scoring eight goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romero led Tottenham to Europa League glory last season, captaining the side in their final against Manchester United to end a 17-year trophy drought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite summer transfer links with Atletico Madrid, Romero\u2019s decision to extend his stay comes shortly after being appointed club captain by head coach Thomas Frank.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Romero expressed his contentment, declaring himself &#8220;very happy&#8221; at Spurs and optimistic about another successful campaign. &#8220;We want to win. Maybe why not win again this season?
