{"id":1455,"date":"2025-08-15T18:58:40","date_gmt":"2025-08-15T10:58:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/?p=1455"},"modified":"2025-08-15T18:58:40","modified_gmt":"2025-08-15T10:58:40","slug":"brady-didnt-understand-football-says-wayne-rooney-after-work-ethic-jibe","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/index.php\/2025\/08\/15\/brady-didnt-understand-football-says-wayne-rooney-after-work-ethic-jibe\/","title":{"rendered":"Brady didn&#8217;t understand football, says Wayne Rooney after &#8216;work ethic&#8217; jibe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1000\" height=\"667\" src=\"https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-21.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1456\" srcset=\"https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-21.png 1000w, https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-21-300x200.png 300w, https:\/\/dxtynews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/image-21-768x512.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Wayne Rooney has described criticism of his work ethic by Birmingham minority owner Tom Brady as &#8220;unfair&#8221; and said the NFL legend did not understand football.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Former Manchester United and England captain Rooney, was sacked as Birmingham manager in January 2024 after less than three months in charge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Seven-time Super Bowl champion quarterback Brady, who became a minority shareholder at Birmingham in August 2023, said he was &#8220;a little worried about our head coach&#8217;s work ethic&#8221; during a recently-aired documentary after visiting Blues&#8217; training ground two months later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I think Tom came in once, which was the day before a game where the days are a little bit lighter anyway, and I don&#8217;t think he really understood football that well,&#8221; Rooney said on his new podcast, The Wayne Rooney Show.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Football is not NFL &#8211; NFL works for three months a year.
