Inter overturns Como’s initial 2-0 lead to win 4-3 at the Sinigaglia, thanks to braces from Marcus Thuram and Denzel Dumfries. The Nerazzurri extend their lead at the top, moving ever closer to the Scudetto, while Cesc Fabregas’s team loses fourth place.

Inter shifts into fifth gear in the final sprint of the championship, and after falling 2-0 behind at Como’s ground, pulls off a monumental comeback at the Sinigaglia: a 4-3 final score extends their lead to nine points over second-placed Napoli. With six matchdays remaining, Cristian Chivu’s side sees the Scudetto drawing ever closer.

Como, led by Cesc Fabregas, started incredibly strong, pressing high and pinning the Nerazzurri in their own half. This courageous and intense approach immediately troubled the visiting defence and ignited the Sinigaglia crowd.

The Larians took the lead in the 36′ minute: Diao let the ball run for Nico Paz, who entered the box, skipped past Francesco Acerbi with a dummy, and shot towards the corner. Yann Sommer parried, but Alex Valle was quickest to react, scoring the 1-0. Shortly after, the second goal arrived: a long ball from Jean Butez found Nico Paz making a run, whose perfect left-footed strike made it 2-0.

Inter, however, did not collapse. In first-half stoppage time, they pulled one back through Marcus Thuram, who cleverly anticipated Van der Brempt from a pinpoint assist by Barella. It was the goal that changed the game and put the Nerazzurri back on track.

The second half saw a complete change of script: Inter took control of the match, and in the 49′ minute, Thuram found the equalizer once more, again assisted by the Sardinian midfielder. The Frenchman, facing Butez, beat him with a precise chip. Como felt the blow, and Cristian Chivu’s side accelerated.

The turnaround was complete in the 58′ minute: a Calhanoglu free-kick met an imperious header from Denzel Dumfries for 3-2. Shortly after, the Dutch full-back sealed the deal, completing his brace from a second set-piece assist, flicked on by Akanji.

In the dying minutes, Como attempted to reignite their hopes: VAR awarded a penalty for a foul by Bonny on Nico Paz, which was confirmed to have occurred inside the area. From the spot, Da Cunha made no mistake, but it wasn’t enough to complete the comeback.

Ultimately, it was Inter who celebrated: a hugely significant victory, built on character and quality, with braces from Thuram and Dumfries pushing the Nerazzurri ever closer to a Scudetto that is now within reach.
