Barcelona’s Fermin Lopez, who scored his first professional hat-trick in the ‘Cules’ 6-1 rout of Olympiacos on Tuesday, admitted it was “a dream come true”. He made the claim in a post-match interview with ‘Movistar Liga de Campeones’.
“I’m very happy because we needed a win like that. We finished with a good feeling and now we have to think about the ‘Clasico'”, insisted the player from Huelva, who was named man of the match.
Despite his joy at scoring a hat-trick, the Barcelona midfielder insisted that he has to “keep working hard”. “I am very grateful to the whole team. Hopefully we can continue with this momentum”, he added.
On his position on the pitch, in the central midfield role, Fermin Lopez stated that he feels comfortable and reminded everyone that he can also perform well when arriving in the box, where he can score and provide assists.
“We have very good feelings ahead of a very important match. Hopefully we can put in a great performance and get the win at the Bernabeu”, he said.
Asked if he feels like a starter, Fermin commented that it is something that Flick decides. “I try to prove myself on the pitch in order to get opportunities”, he said.
