Manchester City have completed the signing of Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain, finalising a long-term deal after weeks of negotiations and Ederson’s departure.
Manchester City has officially completed the signing of Gianluigi Donnarumma from Paris Saint-Germain after several weeks of negotiations between the two clubs. The Italian goalkeeper joins Pep Guardiola’s team with a long-term contract that was signed weeks ago.
The deal was finalised following the departure of Ederson, who has signed for Fenerbahce, leaving the Manchester goalkeeper position vacant. Donnarumma will undergo a medical examination on Monday afternoon in Italy, according to sources close to the club.
After completing this process, the player will travel to Manchester after the international break to fully join the Sky Blue project. The financial agreement has been closed at a figure between €30 and €35 million, after PSG lowered its initial asking price of €50 million.
This transfer marks a new beginning for Donnarumma, who leaves behind a tense spell in Paris, as he himself expressed on social media: “From the first day I arrived, I gave my all, on and off the pitch, to earn my place and defend the Paris Saint-Germain goal. Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour.”
