Gianluigi Donnarumma, ruled out from the squad for the European Super Cup, confirmed his departure from Paris Saint-Germain via his social media channels. The Italian goalkeeper directly targeted Luis Enrique and hopes to bid farewell to the Parc des Princes.
The Donnarumma saga has reached its conclusion. The Italian goalkeeper, who had been frozen out at PSG amidst the contract renewal drama, has finally decided to leave the Parisian club and announced as much across his social media profiles.
“From day one, I gave my all, on and off the pitch, to earn my place and defend the goal of Paris Saint-Germain. Unfortunately, someone has decided that I can no longer be part of the group or contribute to the team’s success. I am disappointed and disheartened,” the goalkeeper began.
What Donnarumma hopes for is the opportunity to say goodbye to the PSG fans at the Parc des Princes: “I hope to have the chance to look the Parc des Princes fans in the eye once more and bid farewell as I deserve. If that doesn’t happen, I want you to know that your support and affection mean everything to me, and I will never forget it. I will always carry with me the memory of all the emotions, the magical nights, and of you, who made me feel at home.”.
“To my teammates, my second family, thank you for every battle, every laugh, every moment we shared. You will always be my brothers. Playing for this club and living in this city has been an immense honour. Thank you, Paris,” concluded the goalkeeper, who is rumoured to be heading to the Premier League.
