RB Leipzig has accepted Newcastle’s offer of around €90 million for Benjamin Sesko, but the Slovenian striker prefers to join Manchester United and is pushing the German club to accept the Red Devils’ €85 million bid.

The Benjamin Sesko transfer saga is heating up as the summer transfer market progresses. The Slovenian striker was initially targeted as a top priority by Arsenal, although the Gunners ultimately signed Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres.

After Arteta’s team dropped out of the race for the Slovenian striker, it was Newcastle who wanted to break the bank for him, putting an offer of around €90 million on the table.

However, just when it looked like the Magpies would secure the 22-year-old striker, Manchester United turned the tables by joining the race with an offer of €85 million (€75 million fixed plus €10 million in variables).

‘The Athletic’ reports that RB Leipzig has accepted Newcastle’s offer, but Sesko has informed the club that he wants to join Manchester United, so the Slovenian is pushing the German club to reach an agreement with the Red Devils so he can try his luck at Old Trafford.
