The Club World Cup is an intercontinental competition that FIFA inaugurated in 2000 as the heir to the Intercontinental Cup. The champions of the various FIFA associations meet each year in a tournament that crowns the best club in the world that year.

Throughout history and since 2000, 12 clubs have so far managed to win the glory of the trophy in this Club World Cup. Real Madrid, under its new name, is the most successful, closely followed by Barcelona, who have also lifted the trophy three times.
