Osasuna sporting director Braulio Vázquez denied at the presentation of Alessio Lisci that Real Madrid had approached the club for Ante Budimir.

Osasuna, through their sporting director, Braulio Vazquez, has denied having been contacted by Real Madrid for their player Ante Budimir, and has assured in this sense that there has not been a call from Real Madrid.

“Real Madrid have not called,” the Galician was clear on Tuesday, cutting short the rumours that placed the Zenica-born Swan in Xabi Alonso’s team a few weeks ago.

For part of the summer, his contract has a reduction in his termination clause. From the usual 20 million to 8 million for European clubs and 10 million for foreign clubs, but the player’s idea is different.

With 21 goals in the last season, Budimir has had his best year as a professional, attracting the attention of several clubs despite his age (he will be 34 in July).

“There have been approaches for Budimir, Sergio Herrera, Rubén García, Torró…”, Braulio responded to the question of interested teams, assuring that because of his goalscoring record “obviously they ask for him”.

The director referred to the different clauses of his players, leaving aside the possibility of negotiating. “Some clubs have called, not just the agent. We have refused to talk about them,” he said.
