Kylian Mbappe was crowned winner of the 2024-25 Golden Boot. The striker, with his brace on the last league matchday, climbed to the top spot with 31 goals and 62 points, beating Viktor Gyokeres (39 and 58.5) and Mohamed Salah (29 and 58).

The European Golden Boot is always a coveted trophy among the great strikers of European football. It is not a Ballon d’Or, but the cache is very similar. Kylian Mbappe was determined to win it and finally did it in a 2024-25 season where he reached 31 goals in La Liga with Real Madrid.

His great competitor was Viktor Gyokeres, but the fact of competing in a league with a lower coefficient as the Portuguese one cost him the trophy. The Sporting CP striker scored 39 goals, but they counted for 58.5 points and he even came close to finishing third, but Mohamed Salah failed to score more than one goal in his last game for Liverpool, so he took the third spot with 29 goals worth 58.

Surprisingly for his tremendous scoring record in Ligue 1, this is Kylian Mbappe’s first European Golden Boot in his entire career. The striker succeeds Harry Kane, who won the trophy last season 2023-24 with a whopping 36 goals. This campaign he did not reach such figures (26), although he did lift the Bundesliga title.
