According to Fabrizio Romano, Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Bournemouth for the signing of Dean Huijsen. Real Madrid will pay the Spanish centre-back’s release clause, around 60 million euros, and will do so in three payments, something to which the English club has given the go-ahead.
Real Madrid’s hopes of the season came to an end with the defeat in the ‘Clasico’ against Barcelona. Not mathematically, but virtually. With the Club World Cup on the horizon, Real Madrid has already begun to plan for next season, a season in which they will have a new coach after Ancelotti’s departure to Brazil.
Undoubtedly, one of the lines where the ‘Merengues’ have had numerous problems this season has been in defence. Between injuries, few options for each position and the low level, the defence has been a real headache throughout the season. Raul Asencio emerged from nowhere and left a great level. Even so, one of the main positions to be reinforced is that of the centre-back.
Madrid already has its chosen one: Dean Huijsen. As Fabrizio Romano pointed out, the agreement between the Spanish player and ‘Los Blancos’ is total. In addition, the entity presided by Florentino Perez has already communicated to Bournemouth his intentions and the response has been positive.

Real Madrid will pay Huijsen’s release clause, which is estimated at around 60 million euros. However, ‘Los Blancos’ will not pay this amount all at once, but will divide it into three payments, with the deadline being the summer of 2026.
In addition, 10% of this money will go to Juventus, the club where he had his first professional experience, and 5% to Malaga, the club where he was formed in the youth categories.
On the other hand, Madrid hopes to incorporate Huijsen in the special transfer window that will open before the Club World Cup (from June 1st to 10th). In other words, the Spanish defender will be available for his new coach and for the U.S. event.
Huijsen has broken down all barriers in his first season in the Premier League, where he has played 34 games, 29 of them as a starter and has scored 3 goals and provided an assist. He has been an undisputed starter for Andoni Iraola despite his youth (he is only 20 years old).
With this potential signing, Real Madrid wins the race against teams in the Premier League, with a great financial muscle and with dizzying projects and offers. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool, among others, have been the clubs that have been sounding among the different media.
