Barcelona president Joan Laporta released a video after the Champions League elimination at the hands of Inter. He was categorical and considered that they are not in the final because of the referee’s decisions.

Barcelona lost in the Champions League semi-finals to Inter Milan and, despite the fact that they had done well to go through, were knocked out. Although the Cules did not want to use it as a pretext, the performance of referee Szymon Marciniak was not up to the task.

Several players and even Flick echoed some of the decisions he made. In addition, on Wednesday afternoon, the president, Joan Laporta, left a strong message through a video on the club’s social networks: “We are not in the final in Munich because of the refereeing decisions that went against us, but this has to make us stronger in order to have the right mentality.”

The president went on to thank the fans for their affection and support: “The more than 4,000 fans who travelled to Milan deserve it all. But also to all the Cules who throughout the season have been supporting our players and Hansi to achieve the goals we have set ourselves.”

On the mood of the team: “It’s a very tough moment. We were very close to the final. But I see that Barca fans are proud of this team, of what they are doing. It is a team of the present and of the future, and this gives us strength. Supporting the team will give them the mentality to win La Liga.”

“We will return to the Champions League and we will compete to win it. Well, it’s a very hard moment, because yesterday’s defeat, as I said, we had it within reach and it wasn’t possible, we fought to achieve it, it wasn’t possible, but I do see that Barcelona fans are proud of this team, proud of what they are doing, that it is a team that has a present and a future, and that gives us strength, it gives us strength because…”, he continued.

Finally, Laporta made an appeal ahead of this Sunday’s ‘Clasico’: “I call on Barcelona fans to give us that warmth, to encourage the team so that this Sunday we can win the game against Madrid, which is key to winning the league.”
