Real Madrid are considering Raul Gonzalez Blanco or Santiago Solari as the main candidates to replace Carlo Ancelotti during the Club World Cup at the end of the season. Xabi Alonso remains the favourite to be the “Merengues” coach for next season.
Carlo Ancelotti and Real Madrid will part ways at the end of the season, with the Italian coach possibly on his way to being appointed first-team coach of the Brazilian national team.
The ‘Merengues’ are therefore looking for a candidate who could coach the club on an interim basis during the 2025 Club World Cup, which will take place from 15 June to 15 July.
According to “Relevo”, Real Madrid icon Raul Gonzalez Blanco and former club coach Santiago Solari are the leading candidates to lead Mbappe and Co. during the prestigious tournament this summer before the start of pre-season.
Both are trusted by Florentino Perez, as the former Spain striker coaches Real Madrid’s reserve team and the ex-Americas coach joined the club as director of football, so they would be good options to coach the club until they can sign their top candidate for next season: Xabi Alonso.
The Bayer Leverkusen coach shot to fame last season after winning the Bundesliga, DFB Pokal and reaching the Europa League final, which has made the former Real Madrid midfielder a favourite candidate for ‘Los Blancos’ for next season.
