Raul Asencio spoke to ‘Movistar+’ after Arsenal’s crushing win over Real Madrid. The ‘Merengues’ defender was looking forward to the return leg at the Bernabeu after a night to forget: “This isn’t over yet. There’s one more game at the Bernabeu”.

Raul Asencio spoke in the mixed zone after Arsenal’s 3-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. Despite not understanding how his team was not up to the task, the ‘Merengue’ academy player trusts in the mystique of the BernabEu to turn things around.

“It was a complicated match. We were not at 100%. There is a lot of room for improvement, we will work for it, to turn it around. Being a team, working hard, if there is a team in the world that can turn this around it’s us. We need our people. We are convinced that we can turn it around,” he said.

“It was a complicated game, things didn’t work out. Let’s keep the positives. This isn’t over yet. There’s one more game at the Bernabeu. We need to cheer up, get up and turn it around at home. We’re pissed off, it’s not what we expected. We are convinced that we can turn it around,” he insisted.

Raul Asencio is already thinking about the second leg of the Champions League quarterfinals. Real Madrid needs to pull off the greatest heroics in their history if they want to stay alive on the road to the final in Munich.
