Real Madrid right-back Dani Carvajal admitted that his goal is to become the most decorated player in the history of the ‘Merengues’, a record currently held by Luka Modric and which he can continue to extend.

Real Madrid is one of the most successful clubs in history and therefore lifting trophies there is something practically daily for the ‘Merengues’ every season.

The players who have spent the most years in white have had the chance to lift silverware several times, as is the case of Dani Carvajal, a Real Madrid youth player who returned to the club in the 2013/2014 season after a few years at Leverkusen.

The Spanish full-back is the fifth most decorated player in the history of Real Madrid with 25 trophies in his pocket. Only Marcelo, Benzema, Nacho and Luka Modric have won more titles in white and of these last four, the Croatian is the only one who is able to continue to increase his record and lead the list with 28 trophies.

Carvajal has recently admitted that his main goal as a ‘Merengues’ player is to surpass his teammate and retire as the most decorated player in the club’s history.

“The goal of being the most awarded player in Real Madrid’s history is unimaginable. I go to bed happy every night every time I think about it,” he said.

“I’m a Madridista since I was born. These months have been hard, but I have felt very loved by the whole Real Madrid world,” added the Spanish international on his recovery since he suffered three knee ruptures.
