Spanish National Sports Council president Jose Manuel Rodriguez revealed on Saturday that a decision regarding Barcelona player Dani Olmo will be made “in the coming days”. The Spanish player was granted a provisional ruling allowing him to be registered in the winter transfer market.
Rodriguez Uribes clarified that what Real Madrid did was respect the decision of the body he leads in Olmo’s case, something he greatly appreciates. He further announced that a definitive decision on the matter will be taken “in the coming days”.
Asked about a possible intervention by Real Madrid president Florentino Perez to support the provisional ruling granted by the CSD to Barcelona players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor as hinted by La Liga president Javier Tebas, Uribes jokingly remarked that it was “the world turned upside down” as it seemed the Madrid club was “delighted” by the situation.
“Football can sometimes be quite amusing; curious things are said. According to some versions, Real Madrid seem to be delighted with the Dani Olmo situation. This is the world turned upside down, but well, what Real Madrid did was respect the CSD’s decision, and I really appreciate that. By the way, not just Real Madrid, but eighty to ninety per cent of clubs understood this,” Uribes commented.
Uribes, alongside the government delegate in Valencia, Pilar Bernabe, visited some sports facilities in Picanya (Valencia), one of the areas most affected by the DANA storm on October 29. He explained that they have until April 7 to resolve this issue definitively and stressed that he is “very proud” of the decision made.
