The French international missed training and will not be fit in time for Real Madrid’s match against Espanyol this weekend.
Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga is not ready to make his return to La Liga EA Sports against Espanyol after being absent from the group at Real Madrid’s last training session at the Valdebebas training complex.
After 15 days on the sidelines, Camavinga did not return to the group and his comeback is delayed until next week when Real Madrid play the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Leganes and take on Atlético Madrid in La Liga.
As was the case on Thursday, Camavinga worked out on his own on the pitch and has yet to take the final step towards returning to the squad. He was injured on 16 January against Celta Vigo, suffering a muscle injury in the biceps femoris of his left leg.
Along with Camavinga, the injured Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao were absent from Friday’s session, completing Carlo Ancelotti’s list of absentees for the visit to Espanyol, although with the good news of Vinicius Junior’s return after missing the last two league games and the last Champions League game through suspension.
Ancelotti combined all his available players in a light training session after Thursday’s recovery session for first-team players. The Espanyol game will be Real Madrid’s ninth match in January.
