Valverde trained after overcoming discomfort that his entourage denies

Fede Valverde trained normally with the rest of his teammates on Thursday after recovering from the back problems that prevented him from playing the second half of the game against Milan and is expected to be available for Saturday’s game against Osasuna at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Fede Valverde has been suffering from lower back pain in recent weeks and had to be substituted at half-time against Milan. However, his entourage denies that there is any such discomfort and that, therefore, that was the reason for the substitution.

Two days after the 1-3 defeat in the Champions League, the Uruguayan took part in a special training session for David Alaba.

The Austrian touched the ball for the first time, taking a big step in his recovery from the ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee that he suffered on 12 December 2023 and which has kept him sidelined.

In addition to Alaba, Carlo Ancelotti is still without Dani Carvajal, also out with a knee injury; Thibaut Courtois, with a muscle injury; and Aurelien Tchouameni, who suffered a sprained left ankle against Milan and will be out for a month.

A session which, according to the club’s website, began with activation, possession and finishing exercises. Afterwards, the players carried out a tactical phase focused on defensive improvement after the two defeats against FC Barcelona and Milan and ended the training session with small-sided games and a series of shots on goal.
