The coaching staff at La Liga outfit Osasuna are continuing to sweat over the wellbeing of a leading member of the club’s midfield ranks, ahead of their return to action this weekend.
That’s according to Mundo Deportivo, who point towards Jon Moncayola as the player in question.
Midfielder Moncayola, for his part, was forced into a premature departure from Osasuna’s most recent outing, against Valencia.
After complaining of a fitness concern late in the first-half, the 26-year-old failed to emerge on the far side of the interval, replaced by Pablo Ibáñez.
The hope, at the time, was that Moncayola’s withdrawal was more precautionary than anything else.
Two days later, however, the Spaniard remains absent from training with the rest of Vicente Moreno’s squad.
His status for Saturday’s return to action, against table-topping Barcelona at El Sadar, is therefore considered to be up in the air as things stand.
