Details: Wojciech Szczęsny’s Barcelona wage offer

An insight into the financial details of the agreement reached between La Liga giants Barcelona and Wojciech Szczęsny has on Thursday been provided.

The name of shot-stopper Szczęsny has of course dominated the headlines in Catalunya’s capital over the last 24 hours.

This comes after widespread confirmation was forthcoming that the Pole is all set to come out of retirement, to pen terms with Barcelona for the season ahead.

As much comes after Blaugrana no.1 Marc-André ter Stegen was ruled out for what is expected to be the remainder of the campaign with a serious knee injury.

So, how much is Barca’s incoming goalkeeper set to earn through next summer?

An insight into as much has this evening been provided, by Diario Sport.

The understanding is that, according to La Liga regulations, Szczęsny is entitled to 80% of the wage packet earned by the sidelined Ter Stegen.

And though the Camp Nou brass ultimately opted against offering up such a figure, the Pole is nevertheless satisfied with the proposal put before him in Catalunya:

‘FC Barcelona’s salary proposal for Szczesny is around three million euros gross for the remainder of the season. This aspect has not been an impediment in any way to the operation moving forward,’ it is confirmed.
