Monterrey signs Ocampos from Sevilla for €7m

Lucas Ocampos becomes a new Monterrey player. Sevilla will receive an amount slightly higher than 7 million euros, although the clubs have not commented on the matter. The 30-year old signs with ‘Rayados’ for the next 3 seasons.

Early Tuesday afternoon, Sevilla and Monterrey made official what was an open secret: the transfer of Lucas Ocampos to the Mexican team. The Argentine winger signs with ‘Rayados’ for the next 3 seasons.

The Sevillian club organized the farewell at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan of a player who was not part of the list of 23 called up for last Sunday’s match against Girona (0-2), although he was present in the stands of the stadium of the Sevillian team.

Ocampos, 30 years old and international with the Argentina national team on 12 times, will leave in the coffers of the Andalusian club something more than 7 million euros, a figure that has not been confirmed by the club. The player had a contract with Sevilla until June 30 and his transfer brings to an end five years.

The winger arrived at the Andalusian club in the summer of 2019 and has played 208 official matches with the Sevilla shirt – including two Europa League finals won – in which he has scored 44 goals and provided 22 assists.
