A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is continuing to train away from the rest of the club’s squad at present.
The player in question? Jesús Vallejo.
Defender Vallejo, of course, secured a return to base in Spain’s capital this summer.
After another season out on loan, the stopper was afforded a somewhat surprising place back in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad, owing to the lack of options at the heart of Real’s backline.
The early weeks of the campaign, however, have seen Vallejo, who has long struggled with fitness problems, confined to the sidelines once more.
At present, the 27-year-old is dealing with a case of muscular overload.
On Saturday, he was, in turn, forced to sit out training alongside the rest of Real’s first-team ranks once more.
The Spaniard joined the trio of David Alaba, Eduardo Camavinga and Jude Bellingham in being put through his own specialised session.
Vallejo, as a result, will not be available for selection to face Real Betis on Sunday.
