Real Madrid won’t make any more signings this summer – Ancelotti

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti, in his pre-match press conference ahead of the Spanish side’s match against Milan on the Soccer Champions Tour, praised the squad he has and confirmed that the ‘Merengues’ will not be making any more signings this summer.

Real Madrid will not make any more signings this summer, as coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed at the press conference ahead of the ‘Merengues’ first pre-season friendly against AC Milan on the Soccer Champions Tour.

“We have an impressive squad in every position. Mbappe has joined us, he is a fantastic player. We don’t have much time to prepare for the first games, but the players will come back in good shape, they have a programme that starts 15 days before they arrive,” said Ancelotti.

“The most important thing was to rest after a long season. The whole squad will be back on the 7th and we will be ready when the season starts. We are missing Kroos, but we have all the possibilities in the world to replace him, in a different way obviously, because there is no player with the quality he has,” he added.

Ancelotti assured that the systems he has in mind for next season are a 4-4-2 and a 4-3-3. “The system can be a 4-4-2 and a 4-3-3, the same as last year. We have a squad with the resources to play those systems,” he said. “Vertical play was also what we wanted with Kroos. It’s always the idea we have. Bellingham is a player who has the quality to get into the box: the closer to the box, the better,” he said.

He added that Madrid’s squad for next season is now closed. “The squad is closed, we have no ideas of signing others, Jesus Vallejo has returned, we have David Alaba, Joan Martinez, Jacobo Ramon, Raul Asencio… We are well covered also because Alaba will be back,” he said.
