Deportivo Alaves have announced that they have signed young winger Luka Romero from AC Milan on an initial loan deal with an option to buy.
As confirmed by their official website, Romero is a new Alavés player after the LaLiga side and Milan reached an agreement for what will be a season-long loan deal that can be made permanent through the payment of a pre-agreed sum.
Romero joined Milan on a free transfer from Lazio last summer and while he impressed in pre-season, he didn’t get much playing time after that. In January the decision was taken to let him move to Almeria on a six-month loan and he scored three times, including a brace against Atletico Madrid.
At 15 years and 255 days old, the forward became the youngest player to debut in LaLiga history back in 2020, then he made the move to Lazio. At the moment both Christian Pulisic and Samuel Chukwueze are ahead of him in the pecking order at Milan.
According to the Spanish journalist Cesar Luis Merlo, the option to buy is set at €7m. This amount was also reported by Calciomercato.com too, and if Alaves do decide to spend that amount then it will be a pure capital gain given he arrived on a free.
