Barcelona could ask for bank credit to sign Nico Williams

Nico Williams is, along with Dani Olmo, Barcelona’s main target for this transfer window. With no guarantees yet of being able to sign him, the club is considering asking for a bank credit in order to pay his termination clause, 58 million euros.

Barcelona are pushing for the signing of Nico Williams in every possible way. They know that they will not be able to negotiate with Athletic, but will have to pay his clause of 58 million euros if they want to sign the winger. One of those formulas could be a bank credit.

‘SER’ explains that the ‘Cules’can opt for this formula to have the necessary cash to pay the termination clause. Currently, the ‘Cule’ club does not have sufficient liquidity to do so in cash, and could therefore opt for a loan.

Athletic Club, for their part, do not intend to negotiate the departure of the recent Euros winner, nor to cut up the 58 million euro payment, but want all the money at once through the payment of the clause.

A few months ago, ‘La Vanguardia’ reported that Barcelona were negotiating for a credit bank of 100 million euros. This would be another different way to undertake the Nico Williams operation.

Meanwhile, the current Athletic Club player, on holiday after winning the European Championship, has asked Barcelona for guarantees that they can sign him before the season starts in mid-August.

On the other side is Athletic, who do not want to see their player leave and are doing everything possible to keep him at San Mames for at least next season. And all this with Laporta feeding the rumours without denying it.
