Mason Greenwood’s time as a Manchester United player is now history. The 22-year-old English forward has joined Olympique Marseille to play in Ligue 1 from next season.
Manchester United and Greenwood have now parted company for good. The right winger has decided to continue his career in France after a successful spell with La Liga side Getafe, where he scored nine goals and provided six assists on loan.
“Olympique Marseille are delighted to announce the signing of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United,” the French side wrote on their website. The 22-year-old underwent medical tests before signing his new contract and his arrival was made official immediately.
The French club have reportedly paid 30 million euros for his permanent transfer, according to reports in England. The Red Devils will also receive 50% of the player’s next transfer fee. Marseille have not specified until what year he will play for them but he is expected to stay until 2029.
Manchester United have said goodbye to the English forward , bringing to an end a period that Greenwood would have liked to forget. “We wish Mason all the best in his future career,” they claimed.
