Andriy Lunin surprised when, after the end of the match against Leganes, he spoke of refereeing help in favour of his team. The Ukrainian has confirmed that it was a simple confusion.

Real Madrid beat Leganes in a match in which the ‘Pepinero’ team complained about several key actions flagged, and not flagged, by Gonzalez Fuertes, the referee of the match. That is why Lunin’s words after the match came as a surprise.

On Real Madrid TV, after taking the three points, the Ukrainian goalkeeper said the following: “I don’t want to talk about the referees’ decisions, we have to win these matches without help. I mean that we have to solve the matches playing well, orderly, trying not to concede goals. Win like this to not get into the world of referees”.

The “we have to win these matches without help” quickly hit the social networks, claiming that Lunin had confirmed that Gonzalez Fuertes whistled in his favour. However, it’s all simpler, as the Ukrainian posted.

Lunin posted a story to his Instagram in which he confessed his mistake: “Trying to take advantage of my lack of mastery of Spanish doesn’t seem right to me. But I will try to improve. Triumph very well deserved. Hala Madrid.”

Thus, everything would remain a misunderstanding between what Lunin wanted to say and what he said to the microphones of the official television of the Spanish team.
