Antony’s agent Junior Pedroso has publicly disagreed with Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim’s recent comments regarding the Brazilian winger’s difficulties at Old Trafford.

In an interview with Marca, Pedroso acknowledged the coach’s right to express his opinion but firmly rejected the notion that Antony’s lack of success at Manchester United could be attributed solely to physicality.

The Portuguese coach had suggested that Antony’s challenges at Old Trafford were primarily due to physical factors, but Pedroso labelled this argument as overly simplistic, pointing out that it didn’t capture the full picture of the player’s situation at the club.

“We respect Ruben Amorim’s opinion, but we do not agree with his point of view at all. Attributing Antony’s lack of success at Manchester United to a physical factor is a superficial analysis that does not correspond to reality,” Pedroso told Marca.

“Many players who fail at United have success at other clubs, which raises the question of whether the problem really lies with the players,” he added.

Since joining Real Betis on loan in January, the Brazilian winger has experienced a notable resurgence. The 25-year-old has scored three goals and provided two assists in just seven appearances, a sharp contrast to his underperformance during his time at United.
