According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, there have been further contacts between the Catalans and the Spaniard’s inner circle over the weekend.
For the player, it would be ideal to have it all sorted out before 9 August, which is the day he is due to return to training with his team. Barcelona, while trying to make progress on this front, are awaiting a decision from Nico Williams.
The Athletic youngster has developed a very close relationship with Lamine Yamal, with whom he would get on very well if he decides to leave San Mames.
