Barcelona president Joan Laporta was asked about the possible arrival of Nico Williams at Barcelona while presenting Hansi Flick as the club’s new coach, to which the Catalan president replied that the economic situation of the ‘Cules’ already allows them to make big name signings.
Nico Williams is on everyone’s lips in Spain. The Athletic winger impressed Europe last season and confirmed his rise to fame this Euro 2024 when he was one of the key players in Spain’s run to lifting the trophy.
Rumors have been emerging of his supposed arrival at Barcelona and his good relationship with young ‘Cules’ like Lamine Yamal, Ansu Fati or Alejandro Balde. In fact, the president of the Catalan club Joan Laporta said that the club would try to sign him when he was asked by a fan about the possible arrival of the Spanish winger.
Well, the president of the ‘Cules has again left the door open to the arrival of Williams while Hansi Flick was presented as the new coach of the Catalan club. “Our financial situation has improved a lot. We’re close to normality,” he said.
“Today, Barça can sign big names as we did our job. We will clarify our financial situation soon,” added the Barcelona chief.
