Barcelona are not the only big European club looking to land Nico Williams this summer. Paris Saint-Germain have entered into negotiations for the recent Euro 2024 winner.
Nico Williams has become one of the headline makers of the summer. His great European Championship with Spain, where he was voted MVP of the final and in the best eleven of the tournament, has propelled the Athletic Club winger, who has no shortage of clubs interested in him.
Barcelona have been putting pressure on the player for weeks to accept their offer and make a move that is far from simple. Athletic will not sell the player unless they are forced by the payment of his termination clause and, as of today, they do not have the cash to do so.
So, on Tuesday, another big club has joined the list for Nico Williams. Paris Saint-Germain are still looking for players to fill the gap left by Kylian Mbappe.
According to ‘The Athletic’, the first contacts between the Parisian side and the player’s entourage have already taken place. They want to know if Nico Williams wants to leave and, if so, if he would go to lead the Ligue 1 team.
PSG have yet to find replacements for Kylian Mbappe, who left this summer for Real Madrid for free. Names such as Nico, Osimhen, Jadon Sancho and Bruno Fernandes have appeared on the club’s radar, but none have yet been made official.
In this way, the fight to convince the Spanish international has opened the borders and it is no longer only Barcelona who want to have the winger in their ranks.
