Raphinha was the Barcelona player in charge of the press conference ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final against Athletic. The Brazilian striker was asked about the issue of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, to which he replied that it is something that affects the team and that, if he were in that situation at another club, perhaps he would think about whether it would be better to be there.
Barcelona want to put all the noise to one side and focus on the Spanish Super Cup, where they will be looking to repeat their place in the final, but first they must overcome Athletic in the semi-finals. Raphinha, one of the team captains, appeared in the press room and analysed the match.
“A title gives confidence to any team. We have to be ready to fight for everything. We have the chance to win the first title of the year. It will give us a lot of confidence,” he began.
The Brazilian spoke about the controversy of the non-registration of Olmo and Pau Victor: “It’s a very complicated situation. We never want to go through these moments, they are complicated for us and for them, who don’t know if they will play or not. We are trying to make it less difficult for them. Let’s hope that the people in charge can resolve this as quickly as possible so that they can come back to play with us”.
“We have to hope that this will be resolved quickly. We have to wait. The truth is that we knew the same as you did. We are trying to stay focused to do our job. I hope the people who have to sort this out can do it and give us good news fast,” he added.
However, Raphinha was very candid if such a situation were happening to him: “Yes, I can’t say no. I would be lying and I wouldn’t be lying to me. I would be lying and I don’t like to lie. If I was in another club and I was living the situation of Pau and Dani, maybe I would think if it would be better to be here. When I came here, I knew the situation of the club”.
