The coach, who won two titles in less than a year, leaves the club following a loss to Internacional and recent poor form.

Dorival Junior is no longer the coach of Corinthians. The decision to dismiss the coach and his staff was made by president Osmar Stabile and football executive Marcelo Paz, following Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Internacional at the Neo Quimica Arena.

Hired in April of the previous year, Dorival concludes his tenure at ‘Timao’ with two significant achievements: the 2025 Copa do Brasil and the 2026 Supercopa do Brasil, lifted in early February 2026.

The decision to part ways was also driven by the team’s sharp decline in performance, which includes a nine-match winless streak, with seven of those in the Brasileirao Betano. Corinthians are set to debut in the Copa Libertadores next Thursday, facing Platense in Argentina.

In the current season, Corinthians were eliminated by Novorizontino in the semi-final stage of the Paulistao and delivered a performance below expectations at the start of the national competition.

The club’s technical command will be handled by William Batista, the current coach of the U-20 team.

Additionally, the coach faced several off-field challenges, such as the political crisis and impeachment of president Augusto Melo, as well as over ten squad injuries and unexpected losses, such as the departure of midfielder Jose Martinez.
