According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Neymar has offered his services to both Napoli and Inter Milan ahead of the January transfer window, with one clear objective: to convince Carlo Ancelotti that he deserves a place in Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
At 33, Neymar’s priority is returning to the national team and earning another shot at the World Cup. Persistent injuries in recent seasons have kept him away from the Selecao and out of the European spotlight.
His emotional return to Santos may have reignited his connection with Brazilian football, but it is unlikely to be enough to secure an international recall.
For that reason, the country’s all-time top scorer is pushing for a move back to Europe — not to MLS, despite recent speculation linking him with Inter Miami and a reunion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez — but to a top-flight club capable of competing for major honours.
Romano reports that the forward, through his agent Pini Zahavi and other intermediaries, has been offered to both Inter Milan and Napoli. The Italian journalist also claims Neymar has made himself available to two other leading clubs outside Italy, though their names remain undisclosed.
Neymar hopes that joining a competitive side in Serie A will give him the chance to regain his rhythm, fitness and form ahead of 2026.
For the former Barcelona and PSG star, the next World Cup would almost certainly be his fourth and final one, having represented Brazil at the 2014 (Brazil), 2018 (Russia) and 2022 (Qatar) tournaments.
