Dani Olmo was ‘looking forward to coming back’

The scorer of a brace in Barcelona’s win over Espanyol Dani Olmo spoke briefly to the ‘DAZN’ microphones at Montjuic. He hadn’t scored so much since last season’s German Super Cup, when he scored a hat trick against Bayern Munich. After winning the Barcelona derby, he underlined how much he was looking forward to getting back into the starting line-up.

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo said after beating Espanyol in Montjuic (3-1) that it felt ‘good’ to be a starter and score a brace a month and a half after his right femoral biceps injury and acknowledged that he was “looking forward to coming back.”

Olmo, speaking to ‘DAZN’, stressed that it was key to maintain the good dynamic of results: “We came from a very good week and it was important to keep winning. We knew that Espanyol were going to come with everything and we played a very good game.”

Dani Olmo, when asked about Barcelona’s gunpowder, stressed that they are a team with “a lot of goals” and that they create danger from “the first and second line”. “We create a lot of chances and we want more,” he added.

Finally, the midfielder assessed the situation of the victims of the hurricane in Spain: “Perhaps the match should not have been played. We send all our encouragement and support to the people affected. We will help in any way we can.”
