According to Edu Aguirre, Tchouameni has left Monday’s training session due to fitness concerns. The news arrives as Madrid head into a testing week, playing against Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday before the Clasico game against Barcelona on Saturday.
Bad news for Real Madrid as it looks as though Aurelien Tchouameni has sustained an injury in training. According to Edu Aguirren from ‘El Chiringuito’, the Frenchman has left Monday’s training session ahead of the Dortmund clash due to fitness concerns.
The timing could not have been worse for Ancelotti, who would want to rely on the full-extent of his squad as Madrid head into the most challenging week of their season so far. After facing Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday, ‘Los Blancos’ will be up against Barcelona in the Clasico crunch on Saturday.
Should Tchouameni’s muscle injury be confirmed, Ancelotti will have to find a suitable replacement in his absence, given that the midfielder was set to star in both clashes this week. The 24-year-old had just reached 100 appearances for Real Madrid in their latest win against Celta Vigo.
That said, not all is lost for Madrid as the welcomed back Brahim Diaz into team training on Monday. The Moroccan trained individually on Sunday after sustaining an injury last month, though he has now joined the team in their regular training session. With the Barca showdown kicking off in six days, Diaz races against time as he looks to be fit on time.
