Omorodion optimistic about a Spain call-up soon

Spain U21 international Samu Omorodion spoke to RTVE ahead of Tuesday’s match between Spain and Malta. The Porto striker is in no hurry to make the jump to the first team, considering that “sooner or later the time will come”.

Samu Omorodion is one of the names of the moment given his great start to the season with Porto. The striker spoke to RTVE and reviewed his form. “I’m in a very good form,” he began.

On his arrival in Spain’s first team: “You think about it, but I know that, sooner or later, the moment will come. I’m calm and I’m taking it step by step. I’m very happy and God will say when it’s time to be at that level.”

Omorodion also revealed that it was not an easy summer: “I had a very difficult summer. My family and my loved ones also had a hard time. Everyone knows that I was on the verge of signing for Chelsea, but if it didn’t happen it was because God didn’t want it to happen. I’m very grateful to Porto for giving me the opportunity when it looked the worst.

“I’m very happy to be at the club and I’m very happy to be there. Things are going well for me and I want to show what I am capable of,” he concluded.
